Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide success in the early 20th century. Swift was a fan of music at an early age and she progressed quickly from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before an audience of tens of thousands. Swift was just 11 when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that Swift began to write songs and got a guitar. Taking her inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift's family relocated in Tennessee Pennsylvania when she was 13, so that she could spend more time exploring the country music label in Nashville.
